The ducks with be arriving starting next month so get ready for a great dove and duck action here at Camp David! No need to use a booking agent that is never in the fields or the duck marshes like I am all the time. You will always hear the truth from me!
Update 7-11-11
Good news from D/U is that this is a all time record for the ducks this season so we will have a very, very good duck season here at the lodge. All the airboats are really to go!! I have been watching the dove and there are right now having their SECOND hatch out and I do expect a third this year!! So there you have the update with only one last thing to add and that is rainy season is on us soon and I will be planting a record number of acres in Sesame this season for the dove hunting! Get ready for yet another super hunting season this year!!
Update 4-29-2011
There are 17,000 motorcyclist coming to Mazatlan this week and all riding their motorcycles from all over the USA and Canada. As you can see the violence you hear about is just gang related and most of it on the border. It is very safe or as safe as any place to visit. Don’t let the fear broadcasted from the media scare you from a fun filled vacation here in Mexico.
Update 4-26-2011
Here's another testimonial:
Hello, Dave,
Remember this solo traveler who came a day early and enjoyed the peacefulness of your camp before leaving early next day for the trip to the Copper Canyon? Thank you so much for taking care of the travel arrangements and making my trip enjoyable. Raechel and John from Michigan were the ideal travel companions. Together we had a great time riding the train to the Copper Canyon area, and our conversations are something I will remember with pleasure for ever.
I can assure solo travelers that they will have a wonderful time. Safety is NOT an issue. The plane trip Houston – Mexico City – Los Mochis went smoothly, and a taxi driver was waiting for me at the gate. The personnel on the train was courteous and very professional, and the hotel staff could not have been nicer.
Again, Dave, thank you. I will certainly recommend the trip to my friends.

Update 4-18-2011
Here's a recent letter from one of our Copper Canyon Tour clients:
Hi Dave,
Our trip the first part of March was great. We enjoyed the beach, the train ride, Copper Canyon and the airboat ride. We had nice lodgings and very good food. It was a wonderful trip and we felt very safe and secure. Everything went as planned. Everyone was very friendly at each place we stayed & did all they could for us.
An example of how the flexible approach makes it an experience: At Hotel Paraiso del Oso, when we took the ride to the view points over the canyon we did have engine trouble & the driver had to call for another vehicle. The free time waiting was used to visit the home of Tarahumara Indians, where we toured, saw a vulture chick being raised by chickens and bought a few baskets – great experience. The train had very few people, so we could sit wherever we wanted. Visited the lounge car & ate in the dining car – had excellent meals both directions. Due to the low occupancy rates we were never in crowds. Service was great.
Now is the time to visit Copper Canyon and your tour is a very fun way to see it! The Airboat ride is wonderful for anyone interested in wildlife. It's well worth staying an extra day. We left the Camp David compound and wandered around in Ahome; walked to the square and into shops. Never felt unsafe or threatened.
I. & J. Terry from Denver.
P.S. I've attached a couple of pictures from the airboat ride. Remember these are just from a Panasonic Point & Shoot.

UPDATE 2-28-2011
This is a area that has been cleaned up and will be planted this coming August with sesame and will really make this shooting park the best in all of Mexico!

Don’t worry about your safety here at my place we are a 1000 miles away from the main problems in eastern border towns . Here is what hunters have to say:
Date of Trip: 2/15/11 to 2/20/11
To Dave and the staff at Camp David:
I am so glad that John and I did not let the so called violence in Mexico stop us from a hunt of a lifetime. As noted on your website, Ahome, Mexico and surrounding area is nothing more than farming community and fields and this year full of doves. It was a hunt of a lifetime the amount of doves there was unbelievable. I never thought I would say this but on some days I shot myself out and you know how much I love to shoot. The doves are challenging targets for all levels of shooters and the bird boys were courteous and hardworking making sure we were in the best spots for the birds - make sure you say "Hi" to them for me. Back at Camp David, you and your staff made us feel as if we were at home. With the full course meals and the campfires every night, it was a great way to unwind from a day of great hunting. It was nothing short of "Cadillac". Until next year, keep the campfire burning and thanks for a hunt we will remember for years to come.
Dwane Rutledge
Here are a couple of hunters relaxing but the nightly campfire.

A easy way to gain some weight by the fire. Come and join us next season for great SAFE hunt.

Here you see return hunters in the field have a blast!! So many dove it is hard to pick one out.

Update 12-6-10
This is Bruce Hightower from Longview, WA, in his new camo gear. It worked as he shot 72% on dove and that is almost unreal! That takes a very good shot but with his camo the dove would almost land on him! Yet another fun day of dove hunting had by all, including myself.

Update 12-2-10
A nice dove hunt this morning had by all! Come on down if you have time for the best dove hunting in Mexico!

There are tens of thousands teal here already, with thousands more on the way! D/U was right about their breeding grounds being good this year, and I can see the difference. Here at Camp David I have everything to make your hunt as good as it can get!! Just another reason to hunt at Camp David in Mexico. I have places open for the 2010-2011 season , COME ON DOWN!!

Update 8-20-10
Teal Ducks are known for their twisting, turning flight andstrafing runs low over the marshes. Its small size and rapid wing beats give the illusion of high speeds. It’s the third most common duck in North America, the only continent in which it breeds. Blue-winged and green-winged teal are more vocal than most ducks. The hen’s quacking is more rapid, high-pitched and softer than a hen mallard. The drake has a low whistle peep. We have Teal here by the MILLIONS, and all three species. Don’t miss out on a great hunt of your life time. I have of places still open for you . See ya soon!
Update 8-2-10
This has been a very big job that has taken weeks to complete, but for those of you who have hunted here at Camp # 1 well know thatit will be worth every day of labor in getting all the underbrush away from the lake so you can see the doves flying in from a distance. At first rain, I will plant sesame to really attract the doves. Above the lake I have added four more large hunting sites with wide roads to all of them. Come on, it will be a great season for Dove and Duck!!

Update 7-12-10
This is the kind of real airboat you want to hunt out of. It just got back from Phoenix after having a $7000.00 fuel injection system installed by Arizona speed, the leaders in fuel injection systems. Get ready for a FAST 2110 - 2011 duck hunting season! This airboat now puts out over 600 H.P. and it doesn't get stuck anywhere!

Update 7-5-10
I’m very pleased to announce that a very good, long-time friend of mine, Mario Lopez Valdez, was elected yesterday to be the NEW GOVERNOR of Sinaloa. He will serve the office with upmost respect and safety to the America tourist and hunters.
On the hunting side all the dove fields are plowed and just awaiting the first rain to plant sesame and chia. The Duck outlook is very good and D/U looks for a better than normal year for hatch outs up 27%!!! The doves have already had their first hatch out and I see the second one coming along great with little ones in the nest now. This will be a VERY GOOD year for hunting here at Camp David so get reservations early for the 2010-2011 season. Thanks for your interest.
Update 5-31-10
Book with a outfitter that gives back to the ducks and wetlands!
Update 5-7-10
This morning I had the very distinct honor of receiving the very first plaque of appreciation from the Sierra Tarahumara tribe to an a American for helping them in improving their education and awareness program. The drum you see is used in special ceremonies within their very private way of life in the deep woods of the Sierra Mountains. What a honor and blessing!!

Update 4-16-10
I just got these great pictures from a farther-son Combo Hunt here last season. You can tell by the smiles on their faces that they had a wonderful time. Book now for the 2010 – 2011 season!!

Update 4-16-10
This was the last load to burn after hundreds being burned. It opened up another 50 acres of what I call a hunting park. Just like a golf course with dirt, not grass, but the same landscaping just for dove hunting! Come on and enjoy a real dove hunt, or mix it with the best ducking there is to be had anywhere in the world--and for sure the best in all of Mexico!!

Update 2-28-10

I also have lots of openings so give me a call or email me for a hunt that you will remember the rest of your life .
Update 8-25-09
This is what ALL the new blinds will be like! Four feet by 12 feet nice and roomy for your shooting pleasure. I always HATED a small blind, as I always felt crowded when bringing up my gun.NOT ANYMORE! Yet another reason to pick Camp David as your hunting lodge in Mexico, not some over rated Hotel!! All Drinks are FREE at Camp David including wine--as much as you want, anytime you want.

The planting season was late this year but all the sesame is planted andU will be placed in all the dove fields. I don't know of ONE outfitter anywhere that goes this far to make your hunting as good as it gets! Then again I don't know of any outfitters that have $150,000 worth of farm equipment either, or the 250,000 acres of hunting area to go with it. Send me a email to find out how easy it is to hunt here.

Update: 8/16/2009:
These old airboats I recycled into portable blinds. How many times have you made a blind that you think is perfect then only to find out you needed it 50 feet to the left or right to get under the ducks? This solves that problem. Just one more reason to book with a outfitter that knows what he is doing and does it well.

This is what I do when I'm not working in the duck marsh or dove fields. I release most of them other than the ones I want to smoke. The little guy is my adopted son 'Bronson', who is learning fast !!

Update: 7/27/2009:
NEW HUNT !! For my clients that LOVE the dove hunting but want to try out the best duck hunting in the world ! You get 2 duck hunts and 4 Hot barrel dove hunts for $2545.00.
The pacific flyway reports are coming in and looking the best I have ever seen them look! This should be a HOT season for both dove and duck. The dove are having their second nesting now and the first hatch out was supper with lots of grain and good nesting weather.
I’m busy working in the dove fields now and the duck marsh is starting to shape up real well with a bunch of newly located blinds . Yet to do is HAND DIG a small cannel 1/2 mile long to 13,000 acres of wetland that hasn’t ever been hunted!!!
That will be a fun one coming up this year for those that can make it. I will keep posting as the season gets closer. I have many days still open with some already closed. Now is the time to book if you can.
Hard at it making YOUR hunting the best I can,
Dave

This is Scott (right) from the California Waterfowl Association giving me the award for being the number one outfitter dominator in the 63 year history of CWA.
Update 02-14-09:
This was a great hunt for these two brothers Bob and Kevin that have been back hunting with their group hosted by Billy Prime for six years in a row now! I still have room until the closing day of March 1st with tons of duck and dove if you have a party of four or more!

This is THE BEST DUCK MARSH in all of Mexico and maybe the world all 25,000 acres waiting for you!

UPDATE: 2-7-09:
This is part of the CWA hunt returning from a duck hunt happy as can be.
If you are all lonesome and can't find anyone to have a margarita with you can always have one with my daughter here in the picture! She has been a local at the lodge for 17 years now.

The food is GREAT and LOTS of it at all times!

UPDATE 1/31/09

Another great dove hunt, enjoyed by all.
UPDATE 1/30/09

California waterfowl hunters with a great limit of ducks.
UPDATE 1/15/09
We got this message in from a satisfied hunter:
Dear Dave,
I wanted to thank you for providing the hunt of a lifetime to my two son's and I. From the time we arrived on Thursday January 8th to the time we left on Monday January 12, everything was perfect. The hospitality was great and the service provided by both you and your staff was amazing. You helped us create a lifetime memory.
The hunting was phenomenal for BOTH doves and ducks. It was obvious that both you and your staff went the extra mile to ensure our stay there was safe, friendly and memorable. The facilities were clean, the food was delicious and the hunting was safe and GREAT! This is the second time I have visited your facility and we will be coming back for more in the future.
Thanks again for being more than just another outfitter.
Sincerely,
Brian Adney
Visalia, California
UPDATE: 1/11/2009

'What a way to start off the new year !'
12-22-08 NEW UPDATE
If you don’t have any ducks where you live, it is because there are all here now . The recent cold weather has made them all arrive almost overnight and the sky is black with them!! I still have openings so now is the time to come down for the hunt of your life. The dove are swarming like flies! There are so many you can’t pick one out to shoot! Come on while you can.
Thanks Dave
A word on the violence that goes on in Mexico and YOUR SAFETY. Here at Camp David in Ahome you are as save as you can be. We have no violence at all here in this small farming Villa or surrounding area. Don’t miss out on trip of a life time because of trouble at the border. It is however best to fly here to Los Mochis and just avoid the long bus trips through the border. Hope to see you soon!
Dave Warner
Update, 23 Nov 2008:
Last week I was proudly awarded a certificate that was given to me by the California Waterfowl Association stating that I was the largest outfitter donor in the 63 years history of C.W.A. I’m also the largest outfitter donor to Ducks Unlimited, with over $600,000.00 dollars donated to both!
I ask you to think about who helps keep your hunting good up there when you want a hunting trip down here in Mexico . I still have spots open in all months . Dove hunting this year so far has been some of the best I have ever seen !
Thanks,
Dave Warner
It was a GREAT opening day for the dove hunters with lots of white wing dove and limits in each hunt were easily taken. New York Times newspaper reporters were here documenting the whole hunt for their sports section with pictures and all!!
I still have room for hunters this season so send me a email or call 1-866-247-3464and sign up for a hunt of your life time!!

This is REAL father and son hunt that both of you will remember for the rest of your lives!
Camp David-N-Mexico also offers free WiFi service, so bring your laptop, and stay in touch with the world.

The 2007-2008 season is off to a great start, and 07-08 Openings are still available!

Dont' miss out on these fantastic hunts! BOOK NOW!

If the left one don't get you there, the right one will!
What happens if you get here to Mexico and the weather turns bad? Rain and more rain. That means NO HUNTING at 99% of outfitters here, because they are not equipped well enough to get you in the field after the bad weather. Plus, after bad weather, you can have very muddy roads that last for days at a time. Here at Camp David we have the equipment to do the job and do it right!! Just one more reason to book your hunt with a real outfitter not some over-rated HOTEL where you sit and waste you valuable hunting time for days on end .
